What is the primary motivation behind establishing Mindful Orchestra LLC?

The genesis of Mindful Orchestra lies in the rebranding of a concept that initially started years ago. 

I embarked on a journey to revitalize and expand the concept into a more comprehensive resource for families navigating the complexities of children and adolescents with behavioral and mental health disorders, particularly within the educational system.

​

Drawing from my personal experiences growing up in Bridgeport, Connecticut's inner city, I recognize the scarcity of resources available to support students like me. Despite struggling with reading comprehension and math throughout elementary and middle school, I was fortunate to have two of my high school educators, Pamela Gelder and Tony Pijar, who saw potential in me and nurtured my love for learning. Their advocacy and guidance not only helped me develop a passion for education but also enabled me to pursue higher education in child psychology and education.

This transformative experience illuminated the significance of supportive mentorship and informed my desire to create a business that advocates for equal access to quality education and mental health resources, particularly for underprivileged families and communities.

During my time at Liberty University, I gained valuable insights into the educational system and the importance of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). I realized that having an IEP earlier in my academic career could have greatly alleviated some of the challenges I faced. My personal journey, marked by behavioral issues that stemmed from unaddressed learning disabilities, further solidified my commitment to creating a supportive network for families.

In contrast to more affluent districts, the resources available in my community were limited, and it wasn't until high school that I had advocates who fought for my educational needs. This disparity underscores the necessity for organizations like Mindful Orchestra LLC, which aims to bridge the gap in services for families navigating diagnoses and educational planning.

 

After conducting extensive research on family guidance and youth mental health services in my area, it became clear that existing resources fell short in providing comprehensive support, particularly for families dealing with new diagnoses and navigating IEPs. This gap in services prompted me to rebrand and formally establish Mindful Orchestra LLC. 

​

As the founder and owner of this family guidance and advocacy firm, the goal is to empower families by providing them with the necessary resources and support to navigate complex systems. Mindful Orchestra LLC is dedicated to advocating for individuals who feel overlooked and underserved, striving to level the playing field for those who need it most.
